How to find us

Our facilities are located in Homestead, Florida USA, less than one hour from the city of Miami. We have our General Program every Saturday, our Employment and Skills Development Program for those above 16 years of ago, the Zoo Program, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 2 pm, and some special events during the week when announced.

Please note that our facility is specifically designed to cater for children and youth with special abilities and is not open to the public. However, visits are accepted on the first Saturday morning of every month. If you would like to come with family and friends for a visit, you need to request at least 24 hours in advance, subject to availability of staff by email: foundationlaventanadeloscielos@gmail.com. The cost per person for a visit is 15 USD. If you would like to hire part of the farm for a birthday, wedding or other event, the cost starts at 00 USD. Registration for  those under 18 years of age

For registration of children and teenagers below 18 years of age, you are welcome on Saturdays between 9 am and 9:30 am. Bring the completed form and the documents requested there, and the child can start right away. They participate in art and music sessions, zoo-interaction (activities that vary from week to week with animals, such as paint the cow, wash the horse, cuddle rabbits, say hello and feed the birds, etc). They can also register for the following week on therapeutic water exercises we call acqua experience, and if your medical doctor recommends, the child can mount for horse therapy, if time slots are available. Therapeutic massage is normally available as well. All activities are subsidized, at no cost, and only the horse therapy carries a 20 dollar fee per session. However, we need contributions and those who can, are welcome to make a contribution so that even more children and youth can benefit.

 

Registration of those above 18

For those 18 and above, in addition to the hours mentioned on Saturdays, you are also welcome either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays 9 am to register. Send us a text message to (305) 3327259 or to our e-mail indicated above, and you will receive an application form. Membership is free, but to attain membership, regular participation of three months is required.

 

For those 18 and above, the activities on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are between 8 am and 2 pm. The focus of the sessions are on social interaction and skills, behavior, and income generating activities that help them establish the relationship between effort, work and remuneration. This Employment and Skills Development Program is called Zoo Program.

 

Registration of volunteers

We receive volunteers from 15 years of age. We can make exceptions for very motivated adolescents below 15, if accompanied by a parent or other person authorized by a parent. We also receive Groups of volunteers from Universities, Churches, goodwill organizations. We follow certain criteria for background checks, in order to protect the children and youth participating in our programs.
